I’ll admit, I have a bias towards timeless wedding photos, and Eric and Beth chose some of the best photos locations around Columbus to capture a timeless, classic aesthetic. They began their day getting ready at Hotel Leveque in downtown Columbus. The suites in this historic tower (which was once one of the tallest buildings in the United States upon its completion) boast abundant natural light from large windows that look out over the Scioto Mile and a neutral decor that serves as a beautiful backdrop for getting ready portraits.
After capturing their getting ready portraits, we walked Eric across the street to the grounds of the Ohio Statehouse for his first look with Beth. Eric could hardly contain his excitement. With the marble steps and grand facade of the Statehouse as a background, Eric fought back tears as he saw Beth in her dress for the first time.
After the first look, we walked back to the Hotel Leveque, as it’s hard to pass up capturing some editorial bridal party portraits in the hotel’s art deco lobby. From there, we took a short trip down the street to the patio of the Ohio Supreme Court building to take advantage of its white marble facade and flattering, soft light.
With the portraits done, we ventured to one of Columbus’ gems – historic German Village. Eric and Beth chose to hold their ceremony and reception at High Line Car House, a venue that beautifully honors the late-19th century brick architecture that defines the neighborhood. Their ceremony was intimate, authentic, and beautiful, and the team at High Line did a wonderful job transitioning the space from the ceremony to the reception setup.
All in all, it was a gorgeous wedding day that featured some of Columbus’ best locations for wedding photos.
I value taking the time to get to know each couple so that I can best tell the story of their love for each other in a manner that feels true to them. Get ready to fill your walls with memories that you will cherish for a lifetime!
